After losing the Super Bowl, the Indianapolis Colts are expected to contend again (17/2 Super Bowl odds). They’re also the favorites in the AFC South at -160. Here is Indy’s 2010 training camp outlook.
It was business as usual during the offseason in Indianapolis. The Colts lost a few bodies in free agency (yet nobody integral), didn’t bother pursing any high-profile free agents, and reloaded through the draft. The team’s top three picks were spent on defense, with a focus on all three levels: defensive end Jerry Hughes, linebacker Pat Angerer, and cornerback Kevin Thomas. All three will have roles this season.
The offense is as stellar as ever. Peyton Manning has an embarrassment of riches to throw to, including Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Anthony Gonzalez, Austin Collie, and Pierre Garcon. The running game is the only weakness (last in the NFL last season).
